Liferafts Service
Annual inspection and servicing of inflatable life rafts are mandated under international maritime safety regulations to ensure they are fully operational in emergencies. We are the approved and authorised station for HAI-AN and LALIZAS Life rafts.
Regulatory Basis:
- Governed by SOLAS Chapter III, Regulation 20 and the LSA Code.
- Servicing must follow IMO Resolution MSC.402(96), which outlines procedures for maintenance, testing, and overhaul of life-saving appliances.
Our Annual Inspection Checklist
- Check container integrity for cracks, corrosion, or deformation.
- Verify labelling, expiry dates, and serial numbers.
- Inflate the raft to check for leaks, seam integrity, and proper deployment.
- Confirm inflation time meets manufacturer specifications.
- Inspect survival equipment: flares, food rations, water, first aid kit, flashlight, whistle, and sea anchor.
- Replace expired or damaged items, including HRU (if applicable).
- Test and refill CO₂ cylinder.
- Inspect valves, hoses, and firing mechanisms
- Deflate, dry, and repack the raft according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Seal and label the container with next due date.
- Issue a Certificate of Servicing.
