Life Jackets and Immersion Suits Service
Annual inspection of life jackets and immersion suits is a critical safety requirement under international maritime regulations.
Regulatory Basis governed by SOLAS Chapter III and the LSA Code MSC.48(66).
Our Inspection Scopes:
- Check for hardening, shrinkage, or waterlogging on the buoyancy materials.
- Look for tears, fraying, mildew, or UV damage on the fabrics and stitching.
- Confirm presence and functionality of whistle and light.
- Ensure reflective tape is intact and visible.
- Inflate the bladder and check for leaks or deformation.
- Confirm it holds air for the recommended duration.
- Verify the CO2 cylinder cartridge is properly installed and not pierced.
- Check for corrosion or damage.
- Test the oral inflation tube for smooth operation and sealing.
- Inspect the bobbin or hydrostatic release unit for expiry and condition.
- Replace CO2 cylinder cartridge and or bobbin if expired or damaged.
Immersion Suits: Annual Inspection Required under SOLAS Regulation III/22.4 and III/32.3, and detailed in IMO MSC/Circ.1114
Our Annual Inspection & Servicing Scope Includes:
- Seam and closure integrity: Check for leaks, tears, and deterioration.
- Zippers and fasteners: Ensure smooth operation and no corrosion.
- Gloves, hood, and boots: Confirm they are attached and undamaged.
- Light and whistle: Test for functionality.
- Lubrication: Apply jelly to zippers if recommended.
- Leak test: Inflate suit and check for air retention.
